Joe Tohonnie Jr. is White Mountain Apache and Navajo. His clans are the Tenadolzhage (Eagle Clan) and Tachinii. From the age of 6 years old he has been given the gift of singing and blessing people from his grandfather Stacy Classay. Since then he has been traveling all over Navajo Nation and to varies states singing and sharing his culture at different events along with the group of dancers. Joe has been nominated for the Grammy Award in 2013 and 2014 for Best Regional Roots. He has also been nominated  for the Native American Music Award, he has also won an award for Best Native American Church Recording.
