Sharing Cultures on the Social Web

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

Feedback form is now closed.

Who should attend this workshop? Teachers and administrators curious about education and technology and who may need some hands-on explanation of the tools (phones, tablets) and the platforms (blogs, wikis, facebook, flickr, twitter, youtube ....). If your interests include conservation, culture, tourism, world heritage, then these sessions engage you, like you, too.

What does the title allude? Sharing in terms of generosity and in terms of the newfangled social web, where sharing is the first step or first click, saying both 'thank you' and 'hey, i found this first.'

Among the talking points – reflections on integrating into the classroom the Year of Open and the International Year for Sustainable Tourism, as well as the tools themselves -- wikis, collaborative editing, photo and video archives and livestreaming video.

We preview upcoming event, including the World Heritage Committee Meeting in Poland, Guelaguetza in Oaxaca, Mexico and Matariki and NetHui in New Zealand.

Those attending the Native Innovations Conference in person are asked to register for the event and to choose the workshop that fits your time schedule. Others are welcome to engage via the social web. We value our remote participants. If you can, please encourage others by sharing and linking and commenting. Questions and comments are welcome below.
